How to Show Date and Time on iPhone Home Screen
There are two ways to display the date and time on your iPhone’s home screen.

Method 1: By Adding App Icons
Basically, iPhones display the real-time date and time on the Clock and Calendar app icons by default. So, if you have these two icons on the home screen, you can quickly check the date and time. In case you have removed them from your home screen, don’t worry. Just follow these steps to add the Clock and Calendar back to the iPhone home screen.

Step 1: Open App Library on your iPhone by going to the last page of your home screen. It will look like this.

Step 2: Tap on the search bar at the top and search for Clock.

Step 3: Long-press on the Clock app icon and select ‘Add to Home Screen’.

Note: If ‘Add to Home Screen’ doesn’t show up, simply hold and drag the app icon to your iPhone’s home screen.

Step 4: Similarly, repeat steps 1-3 and search for the Calendar app in App Library and put it on your home screen.  

That’s it. The Clock and Calendar app icons will show up on your home screen, displaying the current date and time.

If you want a bigger clock or clock of different or multiple cities to show on your iPhone’s home screen, you have to add a clock widget. Similarly, you can add a calendar widget to display bigger dates or show the entire month on the home screen of your iPhone.

Follow these steps to show the clock or date on the iPhone home screen:

Step 1: Long-press on any empty space on your iPhone’s home screen until the icons start jiggling.

Step 2: Tap on the add (+) icon at the top.

Step 3: Scroll down and tap on Clock.

Step 4: Here, you will see different types of clocks. Swipe left or right to see the clock styles. Tap on Add Widget under the clock style that you want to add.

How to Display Weather on iPhone Home Screen
Just like date and time, you have to add a weather widget on your iPhone’s home screen to see the temperature and other weather conditions. Follow these steps to add weather to your iPhone’s home screen:

Step 1: On your iPhone’s home screen, long press anywhere on any empty space. Once the icons start shaking, tap on the add (+) icon.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap on the Weather widget to see different types of widgets. Select the widget that you want to add and tap on Add Widget.

Step 3: The weather widget will show on your home screen. Long-press on it and select the Edit widget. Then, tap on Location to set the location whose temperature you want to see on the home screen.

How to Show Date and Time on Android Home Screen
You can display the date and time on your Android phone’s home screen in the following four ways:

Method 1: By Adding a Clock and Calendar App Icon
The Clock and Calendar app icons on Android phones show the current date and time. If you want a simplistic home page, you can add these app icons to display the date and time on the home screen.

Step 1: Open App Drawer on your Android phone.

Step 2: Long-press the Clock icon and drag it to the home screen. Similarly, long-press the Calendar app icon and put it on the home screen.

Tip: Keep these app icons at the top-left corner of the first page of your home screen for faster access.

Step 1: Long-press on any empty space on your Android phone’s home screen.

Step 2: Select Widgets from the menu that shows up.

Step 3: Scroll down and tap on Clock to see different types of clocks.

Step 4: You will see different types of digital or analog clocks. Some clock widgets also display the date along with the time. So, if you want both, choose the one showing both the date and time. Hold and drag the preferred clock widget to put it on your Android phone’s home screen. You might be asked to select the clock face.

Step 5: Once the widget is added to the home screen, long-press it and tap on the edit (pencil) icon to customize the widget.

If you only want to see the day and date on your Android phone’s home screen without the time, you have to add the ‘At a Glance’ widget. For that, follow these steps:

Step 1: On your Android phone’s home screen, long-press on any empty space. Then, tap on Widgets in the menu.

Step 2: Expand the Google widget section. Then, hold and drag the At a Glance widget to your home screen. It will show the date and upcoming information such as calendar events, weather, and reminder.

Follow these steps to show the time, date, and weather on a Samsung phone’s home screen:

Step 1: On your Samsung Galaxy phone’s home screen, long-press on empty space and select Widgets.

Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Weather.

Step 3: Long-press on the Weather and Clock widget and drag it to the home screen.

Step 4: Once added, long-press the widget and select Settings to customize the widget. Or change the size of the widget using its border.

How to Add Weather on Android Home Screen
You can show weather on your Android phone’s home screen by using the At a Glance widget as shown above or by adding a standalone weather widget.

To show temperature by adding a standalone weather widget, follow these steps:

Step 1: Long-press on empty space on your Android phone’s home screen. Select Widgets.

Step 2: Scroll down and expand Weather. Then, long-press on the widget that you like and drag it to the home screen.

1. How to display the date on top of the screen? You cannot show the date in the status bar of your Android phone or iPhone.
